This legislative focus reflects the growing significance of “Crypto Week” and the broader impact on the cryptocurrency market.

Investors Rush Into Spot Bitcoin ETFs as Strategy Expands Holdings
Strategy resumed its purchase announcements after a brief hiatus, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its Bitcoin holdings. Concurrently, investors actively funneled funds into spot Bitcoin ETFs, catalyzing further Bitcoin price increases. These ETFs, which directly hold Bitcoin as their foundational asset, require additional acquisitions to accommodate the heightened investor demand. Data from Farside Investors indicated that net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs reached an impressive $1 billion on Thursday and Friday alone. Cumulatively, inflows for the week approached $2.7 billion, with a significant portion attributed to BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust.
Regulatory Developments and Market Stability
The U.S. House of Representatives is poised to deliberate on crucial crypto-focused legislation, including the CLARITY Act, Anti-CBDC Surveillance Act, and GENIUS Act. The CLARITY Act aims to establish definitive guidelines for the regulatory classification of digital assets, while the GENIUS Act seeks to provide a regulatory framework tailored to stablecoins.
Notably, a regulatory overhaul during ‘Crypto Week’ is expected to mitigate risk and curtail extreme volatility within the crypto sector, as highlighted by Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan. Hougan noted on X that historical downturns, such as those involving FTX, Luna, and Celsius, were largely due to a lack of regulatory oversight. In his opinion, drawdowns exceeding 70% are now a relic of the past.
